Creating safe spaces and keeping an open heart and mind can help us to unite in solidarity as we advance inclusion, accessibility and cultural understanding
Diversity is essential to our success, it is key to how we build our teams, cultivate leaders, and create a workplace and marketplace where everyone can bring their full selves and feel safe.
We continue to transform our workforce to better reflect the Canadian population. We all need to raise our awareness and sensitivity about other cultures, adopt bias-free practices, and reflect on inclusive values while developing and growing our most important asset – our people.
Canada Post is a large and diverse organization. This is a strength that we will build on. I want this company to be safe and welcoming for everyone, and to provide equal opportunity for all. To do that, we must stand against racism and prejudice, and we must continue to emphasize listening and learning.
I am certain we are moving in the right direction where everyone is included and belongs to all aspects of our society as we should all rise together.
Each of us has a role to play in making everyone feel safe, equal and seen. This company does right by its people. I couldn’t be prouder to be one of them.
In my first days I saw the diversity in the workplace and efforts to include all people. Witnessing this has made me comfortable expressing aspects of my own identity.
I am so proud to work for an organization that recognizes that we cannot fully achieve our transformation vision without employees of diverse backgrounds, lived experiences and thoughts. Our ESG strategy continues to be shaped by our employees from environmental sustainability, accessibility, health and safety as well as diversity and inclusion. To be successful, we must continue to identify, and more importantly, embrace, opportunities for diversity to foster creativity and innovation to deliver on our purpose, A Stronger Canada – Delivered.

Northern and Indigenous reconciliation

Our vision is to reflect Canada’s diversity and provide a safe, welcoming workplace where everyone feels valued, respected and able to achieve their full potential.
Here are a few examples of how Canada Post’s company culture embraces the principles and spirit of equity, diversity and inclusion:
- We formed a Joint National Equity and Diversity Committee with our bargaining agents and created an action plan to address barriers and set goals to advance our vision for positive change.
- Our Employee Resource Groups are safe spaces for employees to discuss topics that are important to them based on diverse lived experiences.
- We are committed to increasing representation for historically underrepresented groups and regularly assessing our progress.
- We value employee feedback and promote equity and inclusion through our internal newsletter to raise awareness of ongoing issues in our communities.
