TORONTO – Canada Post has selected Zebra Technologies, the market leader in rugged mobile computers, barcode scanners and printers that enable real-time enterprise visibility, as the recipient of its E-commerce Innovator’s Award.

Zebra Technologies received the honour on Sept. 20 at the 2017 Canada Post E-commerce Innovation Awards in downtown Toronto. The Awards celebration, now in its sixth year, is the industry’s premier event and attracts entrepreneurs and online retailers of all sizes from across Canada.
The Canada Post E-commerce Innovator’s Award goes to a company that has made a significant contribution to advancing e-commerce in Canada, as chosen by Canada Post — the country’s No. 1 parcel company. Canada Post President and CEO Deepak Chopra presented the award to Joe Heel, Senior Vice-President, Global Sales, for Zebra Technologies at the sold-out gala.

Powering the e-commerce industry
Zebra Technologies was selected as this year’s recipient of the Innovator’s Award because its cutting-edge technology has transformed the e-commerce industry and online shopping for millions of Canadians.

E-commerce is completely dependent on the type of specialized barcode technology Zebra provides to retailers, logistics operations and parcel companies, Chopra said, noting Zebra is used by 95 per cent of Fortune 500 companies.

“Without it, e-commerce would not exist. Absolutely, we would not be able to deliver everything that we do without this technology,” Chopra told about 600 industry leaders gathered for the Awards.

Heel said Zebra is honoured to be recognized alongside other e-commerce innovators, and that the company is proud of the essential role it plays in powering e-commerce.
